Marcela Riccillo (Robotica Humanoide)
I'm a researcher in Robotics. I give lectures about Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at universities and institutes, and I write articles for science and technology magazines.
I started with courses about robotic arms (in ABB), then mobile robots courses (I maked my own line follower robot) and currently my focus is humanoid robots. I was jury in some competencies of robots in Argentina. I have some papers published in international conferences about AI.
I really like languages, I speak English and Spanish, and I was studying for several years Japanese, Chinese, German and a bit of Russian.
How did your interest in robots / robotics
When I was a girl I really liked reading books and watching movies about science fiction and robots. Then I started to read about Artificial Intelligence and study about that at the university. With my Ph.D. thesis in 2000, I started to research about Robotics.
What kind of actions needs to be done in the community
to increase the interest and the awareness of robots /
I think Robotics is great for learning engineering, software design, science and so on. I think we need more courses and lectures about Robotics in universities and institutes.
If you have any closing remarks or comments about robots
/ robotics, then go ahead.
Robotics is my passion!!! :-)
